THE FOLLOWING POEM WAS SELECTED IN WINGWORD POETRY PRIZE 2023 LONGLIST.
Yet, it lingered,
a solitary syllable,
A word akin to
a desert illusion,
and a tree that
clings to its roots,
Yet, the crows spurned,
choosing to soar,
towards an
unknown horizon,
Declaring,
"I'm not
forever
a bad omen."
