Mind’s Nothings | ANANYA BHADRA BASU

I chose the easier path. It indeed

gave me support

That my frail being needed. But not

the fiery freedom my carefree mind yearned for

I bore the burden of named connections

And let go of the unnamed ones

But the tranquility that came with unnamed associations

I found nowhere in named ‘social’ ones.

The mirror where I could once see my freed personality

Is completely shattered amidst social frames

I endeavor to gather my unframed true individuality

In long-lost unnamed relations and their broken realms.
